WHITNEY COX - AB
"You'll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
You'll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step.
Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life's
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.
And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU'LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!
- Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You'll Go!
JESSICA NORMANDEAU - AB
My name is Jessica Normandeau and I’ve been pole dancing for almost three years. I am 30 years old and I have three beautiful children and a very supportive husband by my side. After my third child, I suffered from self esteem and body image issues and decided to try pole fitness to see if it would help build my confidence back up. It was the best decision I ever made, I’ve never felt better about myself physically, mentally and emotionally, it is amazing to see the things that your body is capable of and what pole fitness can do for your soul. Pole has also led me into the aerial art of lyra which I am in love with as well. My aerial journey so far has been amazing and I am so grateful for what it has done for me and the people it has brought into my life.
STEPHANIE CHEUNG - BC
Stephanie started pole dancing 2 years ago at Tantra Fitness. She was in love with the sport and the community ever since. She has a background in gymnastics and Chinese dance. Her first year of competition started in 2016, when she competed in the entry level of the Canadian Pole Fitness Championship.
AISHA - QC
Since pole fitness appeared in my life, this sport became fastly my biggest passion. This sport allowed me to push my body’s limits and gain a lot of self-confidence. There is no sport more complete than pole fitness, because this helps to develop cardiovascular and muscular endurance as much as flexibility. Pole fitness should be recognized as a real sport without any prejudice.
TANYA G. WILKINS - MB
Tanya started pole dancing in 2014 when she discovered Voguefit. For her, Pole dancing is a perfect combination of dance and gymnastics which challenges her physically and creatively. With each hour spent at the studio, she regains flexibility, musicality, and strength. Best of all, Pole dancing is a sport one can start at any age.
ANA RODRIGUEZ - BC
Ana has been dancing since she can remember. She found her first passion, Flamenco, at the age of 16. She has performed in several shows in Venezuela and Canada, and became part of the Al Mozaico Junior Dance company in 2011. In 2010, Ana discovered the aerial arts and trained in silks, hoop and trapeze. In 2013 Ana made the switch to pole dance, she fell in love with the discipline and the community. In November 2016 she took first place in her category at the Northwest Pole Sport Championships. Ana’s favourite thing about pole (besides the amazing community) is being able to combine aerial skills with dance to tell a story.
